AI art wins at the Colorado State Fair and former Tesla director Andrej Karpathy starts a YouTube channel
Artificial intelligence is producing stunningly vivid results and humans can't get enough on social media
Everywhere you look, it seems that people can’t get enough of AI art.
The former head of artificial intelligence at Tesla, Andrej Karpathy, is now making YouTube videos of his AI experiments like the one posted above, in which he ran a bot that created psychedelic faces overnight. In other experiments posted on his YouTube channel, Karpathy’s AI bot dreams of steampunk brains, tattoos, and “blueberry spaghetti.”
Even Elon is taking note.
Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, and DALL-E 2 are competing for attention and mesmerizing humans with their stunningly vivid results.
In addition to grabbing our attention, AI art is also winning prizes.
An AI artist won the Colorado State Fair this past week for his Midjourney art, dubbed “Théâtre D’opéra Spatial,” which took home a blue ribbon and led to a backlash on social media for winning.
News of the Midjourney artist winning the event hit a number of mainstream publications, such as the New York Times, The Verge, and Vice.
